About the Radical Formation in the Pyrolysis of Formic Acid at High Temperatures

چکیده
Formic acid (HCOOH) is an important intermediate in the oxidation of unsaturated hydrocarbons in combustion processes as well as in atmospheric reactions. For example, H C O O H is the main product in the 0 3 C 2 H 4 reaction [1], It has been proposed that H C O O H is formed highly excited in the reaction of 0 2 with C H 2 [2] where its subsequent decomposition into CO and H 2 0 and radical products has been investigated previously [3, 4], The decomposition of formic acid is possible via several channels (thermodynamic data from [5]):

Separation of Formic Acid from Aqueous Solutions by Liquid Extraction Technique at Different Temperatures
In this study, the separation of formic acid from aqueous solutions was investigated. Liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data including tie-lines was reported for water + formic acid + 2-methylpropyl ethanoate ternary mixture at (293.15 to 323.15) K and atmospheric pressure. The system shows type-I phase behavior based on Treybal’s classification because only one partially miscible binary mixture ...
متن کاملAdsorption and desorption of lead in Iranian acid and alkaline soils amended with sewage sludge-derived biochar
The effective management of sewage sludge materials in an environmentally and economically acceptable way is through the pyrolytic conversion of the sludge to biochar and its use for agricultural purposes. The aims of this work were: (1) to assess the effect of biochar prepared from sewage sludge at two different temperatures (350 ºC and 650 ºC) on the adsorption/desorptio...
متن کاملVery Low Pressure Pyrolysis of Phenylacetic Acid
Recent reviews on the thermochemistry of organic radicals in the gas phase,'*2 have pointed out the necessity of a reassessment of the heat of formation of the hydroxycarbonyl radical and the corresponding bond-dissociation energy Ed in formic acid. Based on a re-evaluation of the early work of Back and S e h ~ n , ~ McMillen and Golden,' have recommended A,H('CO,H) = -209.2 kJ mol-'; however, ...

Curcumin is a natural bioactive compound originated from the rhizomes of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.). This study was performed to investigate formic acid and microwave assisted extraction of curcumin from turmeric (Curcuma longa L.). In order to enhance the curcumin extraction, different parameters such as particle size, effect of pretreatment with water, radiation intensity and type of solvent...
متن کاملEstimation of Kinetic Parameters of Coking Reaction Rate in Pyrolysis of Naphtha
The run length of cracking furnaces is limited by the formation of coke on the internal skin of the reactor tubes. The reaction mechanism of thermal cracking of hydrocarbons is generally accepted as free-radical chain reactions. On the basis of the plant output data and the insight in the mechanisms for coke formation in pyrolysis reactors, a kinetic model describing the coke formation has been...
